MY WAY

“I’ve told you a thousand times but still you did not make it,”Arjun shouted.

“Arjun, even I told you a thousand times but you didn’t listen and now if you blaming me then what I can do?”, Anjali retorted.

“Are you trying to justify yourself?, he was furious.

“No I’m not, am just trying to explain”, she calmly replied.

“No Anjali, it’s not new between us. It’s been years we are married but you didn’t change” he paused and moving closer to Anjali, added, “see even now you are trying to justify yourself; yes you should apologize but you did not, not even once!”

She interrupted, “why should I Arjun? Why am I expected to apologize when I’ve not made any mistake?”

“So, skipping a business party which was most important to me despite being informed about it in advance, is not a mistake on your part?”

She retaliated,” Arjun, you know that my father is ill. At a time when he is undergoing intensive treatment how can you expect me to attend the party?” she paused for a breath and continued, exasperation in her voice,”I had made it clear then itself, at the time you informed me about the party; that I’d be able to make it only if he is not lined for any medical check-up. And when he called up complaining of chest pain what was I supposed to do, tell me?”

“I don’t have anything more to say Anjali, just one question, why did you marry me then?”

She sat morose, the visuals of the last fight with him flashing before her eyes. She wished she never had to talk to him again, but right now was left with no other choice. The amount was huge, all she had was a big NO from everyone and everywhere.

Her fingers unsure with reluctance typed out, “Hi Arjun, hope you are doing good. You already are aware of the health issues my father has been facing. Unfortunately, his condition has worsened and become more severe now, he needs to undergo a heart surgery immediately. You know how expensive that is, I’ve contacted many people for money but am yet to receive any positive response.

Reminding you of the promise you’d given me once, will you help me? I’d be forever grateful to you and promise that I will return the money as soon as possible”

She analysed thousand times before hitting the “send” button but every single minute that she delayed was endangering her father’s life more and more. She sent the message. She got more flustered when the double tick turned blue. She willed herself to not check her phone to see if he had replied. It had been about three days now. She hated that she was constantly checking his 'last seen at' status and yes, he had logged in just five minutes ago. Yet she couldn't stop herself. This sinking feeling to find absolutely no communication from him was becoming unbearable, almost torturous.

And then, just as she sat down in her chair, her phone vibrated. With her heart thudding in her ear, she unlocked her phone and stared at the screen. Finally! It was his message.

But when she opened it and read it, she nearly stopped breathing. She didn't know if he was joking or not. What was this?

“Sure dear, how much do you need?”

She couldn’t believe herself as involuntary tears streamed down her cheeks, never had she expected that Arjun would reply. “Did I misunderstand him? “, her mind was flooded by conflicting thoughts and justifications. Putting them aside, she wiped her tears and the next minute called him urgently as if her entire life depended on that one phone call. His response was hugely positive. This was the first time they were interacting since their separation of exactly three months since now. Arjun agreed to pay the total money for her dad’s operation. The doctors had warned that her father had to be operated within the next two days. Once Arjun agreed, Anjali promptly called hospital and asked them to arrange for surgery immediately.

The next day, Arjun arrived at the hospital and called Anjali. Though she was dejected by thinking about her father’s health, she was well dressed and groomed. Even though they had agreed mutually to file for a divorce, now she wanted to live with him. When he called, she almost jumped out of joy and literally ran down the two floors to the ground floor in excitement; All memories, good and bad about him flashing.

Anjali lost her mother at the young age and was very attached to her father. Arjun and Anjali loved each other since college. It was love come arranged marriage. Before marriage, Arjun promised Anjali that he would help her father who kept sick financially, and he had genuinely kept that promise. Now the circumstances were changed. Arjun always expected Anjali to apologize irrespective that she had actually committed a mistake or not; Anjali was never the one to apologize until she agreed to it as a mistake from her point of view. This difference of perspective always created big clashes between them right since they got married and eventually lead to separation.

Her feet slowed down once she saw him. Arjun, with a smile on his face, moved close to her. She stood inexpressive, the tears stagnant in the corner of her eyes. She took a deep breath and spoke, “Hi Arjun, how are you then?”

“I’m fine Anjali. Hope you are doing good, shall we go and see uncle now?”

She couldn’t believe her eyes. Again and again, she checked if this was happening in real or a dream. How come had this man changed completely? Anger, depression, frustration, once the constant expressions on Arjun’s face, seemed to have faded away far. He looked relaxed and spoke with her as if nothing had happened. “Maybe he was looking out for a situation to reunite with me?”, thoughts ran wildly through Anjali’s mind.

They met Anjali’s father, elated to see Arjun; and even more was he happy, relieved when Arjun promised him that he will take care Anjali from then on. This gesture, Arjun’s kindness thawed the remaining reservations she had and Anjali found herself melting totally now.  She just wanted to hug him and say, “I love you idiot!”, but controlled herself to wait for a better situation.

The surgery was scheduled to start by 10 pm. It was 9:30 pm, Anjali was waiting outside the operation theatre and Arjun had gone to the canteen to have dinner. Suddenly nurse came and informed her, “Mam, we have arranged everything and are about to start the surgery in another 15 minutes”.

“Yeah I know that, the chief doctor has already informed me,” she replied.

“Yes mam, another 15 minutes,” the nurse again hesitantly informed.

“I can’t get you, any problem?”, she asked, in fearful anticipation.

“Yes mam, actually, the surgery charges have not been settled yet.  Since you are close to the chief doctor, with his recommendation, we brought the patient to the operation theatre but without the settlement of the charges we cannot commence and proceed with the surgery, as per our norm and policies. Hope you understand.”

Now what was this? Her head reeling in confusion, she at once called Arjun, “Arjun, where are you? You have not paid the amount still? Dad’s surgery is going to start in another fifteen minutes,” she whimpered in fear.

“Hey, Anjali what happened? Don’t worry dear. I’m at the reception hall and about to pay the amount. Cool down, relax. Everything will be fine.”

Heartbeat became normal. He extended, “Anjali, can you come to the reception hall for a minute. They are asking some more details for billing which I’m not sure”

“Sure Arjun, I will come,” she disconnected the call and went to the operation theatre.

“Dad, don’t worry. The surgery is going to start in the next fifteen minutes. Everything will be alright,” she smiled, added, “See how healthy you will be after surgery and play with your grandchildren.” There was a big satisfied smile on his face.

He expressed, “Anjali, I never bothered about my life. But the only thing that always disturbed my mind is your loneliness. I was afraid what will be of you if something happens to me? I don’t want to leave my daughter alone in the world. Now in all probability, I’m the happiest person on earth. Since your childhood, I have accepted all your decisions because I know that my daughter is an intelligent person. The time you choose Arjun as your life partner, you filed for divorce, now when you have decided to reunite with him, I will always stand by your decision. You never do anything wrong. I could never save anything for you financially but I feel proud and happy that I brought up my daughter with good qualities and good thoughts. Always remember one thing, stand by your decision always no matter what you are doing, as a father I will be happier if you live with the same qualities that I taught you.”

These were great words indeed, and they gathered more tears on Anjali’s eyes as the thought came that something might happen to her father. But she took it positively and moved to the reception hall.

“Hey Arjun, what’s up? Come to the billing room, time is running out,” she was in hurry and tensed but Arjun consoled her and added, “Before that, I want to talk to you for few minutes”

“Arjun, whatever it is, we can talk after billing,” her tension was not reduced.

“For billing only I want to talk to you, “he interrupted.

Filled with dread, she couldn’t understand what he wanted to say when he slowly opened up, “Anjali, I still love you deeply. I don’t want to lose you but at the same time, cannot live with misunderstanding happened between us”

She remained inexpressive, her mind unable to register anything else except the bill settlement and he continued, “I understand that you are not getting anything. To make it simple, I want to clear all our misunderstanding and put full stop to it in order to continue our relationship, and your apology alone can erase all the ugly happenings between us. If you do that now, we can start a new and fresh life. What you say?”

There was a deep silence, till she found her voice husky, “Arjun, please make it precise, the time is running out!”

“Okay Anjali, Apologize to my friends, business partners for not attending my business party. That was the reason for our separation. So if you apologize, I can still forgive you!”
She interrupted and hollered in anger, “I don’t want your damn forgiveness man. Try to understand this is not the time for that. That old man is counting his moments. Please settle the amount, the surgery has to start in another few minutes.”

“Anjali, you first try to understand me,” Arjun retorted.

Her cheeks wet with tears gushing out uncontrollably now, Anjali managed, “Arjun, are you playing? Its my dad’s life!”

“Anjali, now you are not my life partner, so how can I help you? And if you want me to think and act like a life partner, I just offered you the chance. I will call them. Just say sorry to them, Anjali!”

She controlled the urge to scream at him to avoid attention of the people around to and calmly replied, “okay Arjun, agreed we are life partners no more, but surely you can help me as a third person, I promise I’ll repay your debt with interest by tomorrow.”

“Sorry Anjali, I’m not interested towards helping a third person.  The only way is to ask for sorry, do that and I’ll settle the amount right away.” He smiled before adding,” That’s how arrogant women like you have to be taught a lesson.”

This unanticipated situation left her too dumbstruck. Time was fast running out, she had to take a decision.

“So your ego is more important than your father’s life, right?” His voice rose with anger.

Not getting any response, he continued, “What is stopping you from apologizing? Is that single “sorry” more than your father’s life? Tell me Anjali..”

Her voice husky with increasing tears she spoke, “A real man never resorts to emotional blackmail, Arjun. I just want to save my father’s life...”

He interrupted, “Then agree to apologize to them and I shall save him. The choice is yours now.”
There was again a deep silence. She gathered all her courage and replied, “I will say sorry!”

A triumphant smile flicked across the Arjun’s face. She did not say anything beyond that and he slowly walked towards billing hall by calling his friends.

He halted as he heard her call out, she had turned and moved towards him. Eyes blurred, trembling hands but clearly and bravely, “You didn’t let me complete the sentence. I wanted to say, I will say sorry to you for calling you!”

Wiping her tears she took a deep breath and added, “And what did you ask, is “sorry” higher than your father’s life? In that case I ask you, “is that same word greater than your love for me? “Sorry” might be a small word for you but uttering that will destroy my character.  If you can’t take me the way I am, then you can never be a better husband. By expecting such, you are actually trying to suppress the individual residing in a wife. Get it and understand clearly. I might lose my father but will never give up the values he taught me and that would make him happy rather than to save him or live with you. I shall find my way, Get lost and good bye!”

A key for happy couple

What the hell is going on between my husband and that bitch?' Maya's patience was at its lowest ebb and she was ready to burst.
Sanjay knew that she was serious. 'Look, Maya. There is nothing going on between the two of them. Just a little bit of healthy flirting, I'd say.
'Flirting? Healthy flirting? Really Sanjay . . .' she rolled her eyes in disgust. 'That's what you men call it? There is nothing healthy about flirting, Sanjay, not for a married man.
Healthy flirting is a term introduced by perverted men who want to lend legitimacy to their extramarital dalliances. Flirting invariably has a sexual connotation to it.' She got up from her seat and walked around the room gesticulating and muttering something to herself. Suddenly she stopped, turned back, looked at Sanjay and asked, 'Did my husband sleep with her? You are his friend. Did he ever tell you anything about it?'
Her phone started to ring but she was not ready to give up, “Sanjay, please tell me. They both loved initially it seems. So there is a chance,” she kept asking and Sanjay’s reluctance made her more suspicious.
So, this is how the drama should ensue. I need to ask lot of questions and confuse Sanjay. It will reach Ragav’s ear and irritate him. Sanjay’s illusion disappeared.
Now I attended the prolonged ringing call. Unanticipated and unimaginable situation. Though the words from opposite side gave me a little bit happiness in somewhere of my heart, I don’t feel comfortable either.  Promptly, I ran into the hospital. He was admitted in ICU in a serious condition. Unknowingly, once I reached the hospital, my eyes feel the wet. Doctor asked me to wait outside and meanwhile nurse came with some papers, enquired and asked me to sign those; that was the only time I behaved as the wife of Ragav. I thanked the auto driver who had admitted him and he handed over certain things of Ragav. I called my parents, mother-in-law, friends Sanjay and messaged to even Neethu as they are close to Ragav in office. Even though it was not a good situation, my mind never allowed me to feel for Ragav. It started to plan the drama again to aggravate Ragav. Neethu arrived.
“Who the hell asked you to come here?” she glared at Neethu and asked.
Neethu did not utter any words but soon her eyes reacted better than Maya’s. Though it was not the right place, Maya did not leave, “you are the reason for everything. Because of you, I fought with Ragav and agitated him. He lost his peace and met with an accident. If something happens to him, I certainly will never leave you,” she blared.
“It’s not because of me, it was all because of you,” And after accusing her many times, Neethu finally howled in agony.
“Me?” she scowled at her.
“Yes if you hadn’t crossed our path, then we would have lived the happiest life now. I loved Ragav since college and you know that. After you entered into the life of Ragav, we split. But he was not happy with you.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean that he did not like you. You gave him stress and pressure. Now he is in ICU. I need my Ragav. Please get lost from his life”
Maya had expected this exact answer for more than a year. But will Ragav react in the same way? Neethu’s Illusion disappeared. The doctor came out from the ICU ward and informed that it was just a small surgery. He further told he was alright and he can be seen after 30 minutes. Actually, I should feel happy for that but I was not.  It was a little disappointing. What a worst human being I am! I cursed myself.
Meanwhile my phone rang and it was Rajesh, “Rajesh, I will call you later,” immediately conveyed after attending the call.
But before disconnecting, he replied, “Yes Maya, I know that. You must be in hospital,” and snorted.
It was kind of consternation and confusion. He added, “As you always told me, Ragav was only the trouble and looking for divorce. Why do you need to suffer by planning a lot of dramas? That’s why I tried to create an accident scene and give permanent relief to you. I believe he must be no more now.” There was a deep silence for the next two minutes and again he extended, “Don’t worry. I will be there for you always”
I was speechless. This unanticipated move by Rajesh made me more panicked. I did not want to kill Ragav at any point of time.  Though he was not sexually active, he was an admirable life partner. It was my mistake to give more space to Rajesh in my life.
“You will be shocked and angry with me. But if you sit and think for a few minutes, you will come to the conclusion that I’m right. After six months, we can marry and live a better life”
“Stop it Rajesh. I never expected this from you. How dare did you do this? He is my husband,” I interrupted and roared in anger.
“But you are loving me now”
“So, will you kill him for my mistake?”
“Maya, try to understand. You want to move away from your husband and live with me. Ragav will never give divorce to you; he is madly loving you. But what you achieve by living with such an impotent? You are wasting your beauty, youthful looks”
I disconnected the call immediately. Tears of guilt and regret rolled down my cheeks. Exactly five years back, I had met Ragav in the same hospital. It was a gruesome accident.Ragav was the one who had brought me to the hospital in an unconscious state. Without him, I would have died. Ragav is a soft-spoken, well behaved and gracious, a perfect gentleman. Slowly, he entered my life. I proposed to him, promptly he accepted. It was a love come arranged marriage.
It was almost three years since we were married, yet we did not have a child. Ragav was impotent. He told me after few days of our marriage. My only question to him was, “why didn’t he reveal it before marriage?” Though he gave many reasons for that, they satisfied neither my mind nor my body. I assumed he had deliberately deceived me. But my anger rose above the saturation point, when he opposed my proposal of artificial insemination, instead, he wanted to adopt a baby. What was the need to adopt a baby when I was physically healthy? I begged him many times to come to hospital, to talk to the doctor, but he always opposed. It simply showed his male chauvinism and suppression of women’s freedom. Apart from sexual life, Ragav was a perfect companion. But I’m a person who never compromises on anything for anyone in my life.
Rajesh just filled the gap between Ragav and me. He was my colleague in office, with whom I used to share everything. I started admiring him slowly and planned to live my real life with him but did not want to hurt Ragav either. Divorce was the only solution. But I did not feel like discussing this with Ragav directly, by asking for a divorce only because he was impotent. I knew that Ragav loved me truly but how could I compromise on my life? Either I did not want to show my real interest in Rajesh because I was locked in the name of culture, fearing the society’s view. So I planned to follow different strategy; like to create some grapevine against him by linking him with his long time college friend and colleague Neethu. I often planned a mind drama using illusive characters of Neethu and Sanjay and tried to execute it. It would I believed, heat up and Ragav would give divorce at one point of time. But never did I think about going beyond the limit and kill Ragav.
It was my mistake to get closer to Rajesh and discuss moving away from Ragav with him. My interest in Rajesh made him to think like a criminal. I was scared and regretted. I wiped my tears with the handkerchief. I could see some WhatsApp messages from Neethu, hovering upon the cracked screen of Ragav’s mobile which I had carried along with my kerchief. Even though I was not in the mood, my hand slowly opened Neethu’s chat. Blurred eyes, cracked screen, tried hard to read. From the message, I understood, Neethu was out of office today but had a chat with Ragav.
Neethu: Hey, I don’t understand why Maya is behaving like a psycho? She called me and was asking a lot of non-sense questions. Why does she always suspect our friendship? I hate it, Ragav.
Ragav: :( I say sorry on Maya’s behalf. I can understand your situation. Her enormous love for me makes her think like that.
Similarly, the chat went on. Every time, Neethu tried to degrade me, Ragav supported effortlessly. Of course, he maintained the role of a perfect husband unlike me. At one point of time, unexpectedly, Neethu started the topic of children.
Neethu: Okay, so why is she opposing the idea of adoption?
Ragav: I don’t know, Neethu. I believe I can convince her soon.
And that chat went on similarly, till the unbelievable happened!
Neethu :  I don’t think you both are the right pair of socks, moreover, you people don’t even have a baby. You look healthy and according to my analysis, it must be her who has some problem. As I have asked you before, why don’t we get married and live a peaceful life?
Ragav: Neethu, don’t say anything wrong about Maya. She is capable enough to deliver children but, I’m impotent!!!. Let me talk to you, once I reach home. Gonna drive.
It was another awful situation and made my heart heavy. Will any male say to any other girl that he is impotent? Only Ragav can. Still my doubt is where did the genuineness go before marriage? May be, he doesn’t know that he is impotent? There is a lot of doubt on my mind, and proceeded to rest room by analysing.
I met Meena on the way to restroom. She is one of the nurses who treated me during my accident and she is close to Ragav as well. I’m seeing her after three years, the last time I met her was during my marriage. I’m not in the mood to talk with her since a lot of things are revolving in my mind but she did not leave me either.  At one point, she started to open the topic of children,
“Hey Ragav told me, he is planning to adopt a child by next month? So finally you are convinced?”
How come did this happen? Promptly my soft corner towards Ragav changed, how dare he told her like that, though I never agreed to it. I immediately retorted,“Why should I? I’m planning for artificial insemination. This hospital has that kind of facility right?”
She smiled and added, “Of course we have Maya but how come you can try for that?”
Again woman’s suppression by another woman, I got more furious and shouted, “why not?”
She smiled again and added, “But your uterus damaged in the accident right? You cannot try for intercourse or children either. Then how could you go for insemination. Instead you can ask Ragav to go for surrogate mother if you need child from Ragav’s gene”
I felt as though I fell from a 1000 feet high. For the next few seconds, I just lost myself. She slowly narrated few things, thought that I knew it before. I then left the place. Is this true? Slowly my mind started to relate a lot of incidents since the accident. My parents were so dull, they always talked to Ragav before my marriage and now even more over the phone without my knowledge. Ragav never allowed me to be alone for any of the general check-ups or not even during the fever to interact with the doctor, he completely avoided intercourse stating that he is impotent. These entire incidents made me believe that Meena’s words were true.
I was a fool, all these days I had believed him literally. I was awe struck and was unable to accept that I will not able to get conceived. I cheated him without understanding the truth. My tears did not stopped for the next few minutes. I immediately ran into the rest room. My heart was filled with guilt. I took out the blade from my handbag; I wanted to cut my hand and kill myself. I did not have any other choice. He loved me truly with no expectation but I failed to fulfil it. Hands trembling in fear. While i was bringing the blade closer to my hand, the phone rang. Blade slipped to the closet. After a few seconds, I come back to normal and attended the call. It was my mom stating that Ragav came to consciousness and asked her about me. I cut the call and kept the phone in my purse. Quickly analysed, is it right to quit my life? Of course not. I don’t like to repeat the mistakes again and again. I walked out of the restroom and ran to Ragav’s ICU ward. Neethu, Sanjay and many had arrived it seemed but my emotions never stopped me either. Once I entered the ICU, my mom walked out. There were a lot of stretches and wounds over Ragav’s body. I controlled my tears and emotions and said, “I’m sorry, Ragav. Don’t worry. You will be alright”, promptly he smiled and replied, “When you are with me, I will never be worried”. And the next minute, my emotions came out, I ran towards him and held his legs and started to weep uncontrollably.
Marriage is not the right relationship to apply women’s empowerment or think about male chauvinism. Compromise is the key for happiness. The best pair does not mean that they have everything but they know how to compromise with what they do not have and live a happy and peaceful life.

CAUSE AND EFFECT THEORY - Short Story

I observed him carefully as he walked to the door. I knew that time was running out but suppressed the urge to check my watch. I took a deep breath and started counting down under my breath. "Ten, nine, eight, seven..."

I believe that counting down would reduce tension. Ashwin who sat two rows before me, turned and smiled. His smile indicates that he assumed squad would have moved out but according to my analysis, he did not. While moving towards the door, I could see his hands inside his pocket. Before I end up with number one, he entered into the class again. Now Ashwin again turned and showed his horrible sad face. Not just Ashwin, but almost everyone in the exam hall seemed to be depressed and had their eyes glued just at me. Their looks made me understand that they were really in need of help as I’m just pioneer to everyone but now even I’m helpless. Exam squad first starts with Mohammed kaadhar from first bench and he had intensely checking him, from shirt pocket to under wear since there were no girls in our exam hall. Many started to bath in high sweat. Promptly, some people who were having small cheat paper they just took out, tar and thrown away, even some swallow it in fear.  But few like Ashwin and me still kept that. I sat in the last row and had enough time to throw away but I won’t. This was the last exam in our last semester and as usual I didn’t prepared well. Already I got placed in a good IT organization and the main criterion in the organization was to have a no arrears history. If I throw away the cheat paper which I kept below my bench then I would have fail in this subject and lose the job but if I kept with myself then surely I will get caught since squad was in deep checking. What to do now?

Meanwhile Mohammed kaadhar got caught by hiding cheat sheets in his socks. Squad reported to invigilator and he was no more going to write this exam. Now everyone in the hall felt jitters in their stomach. Almost 90 percent people in our hall were having cheat sheets. But now most of the people had thrown it away after witnessing kaadhar’s circumstance. Still Ashwin and I dint. Even now I have the option to thrown away my cheat sheets without letting others know, but Ashwin cant, as he went one step ahead and kept the subject book under his bench. Actually, we never expected an exam squad and this was our usual behaviour since we joined college. We are not good in studies and that too engineering was not our cup of tea or coffee either. Till date checking is not a part of our college history. We always use cheat sheets not only to pass in exams, but to score high and act as an inspiration to other students. It is really strange on how squad comes into the picture. Totally three people got caught so far and their future was now doubtful. Now its time for Ashwin. Squad came near him and ask him to stand.  Tears are stagnant in the tip of his eye, full body sweat and started trembling in fear. Unexpectedly, squad let the Ashwin free and moved to next person. He checked him thoroughly but due to carelessness or forgot or someother reason, he failed to check below the bench but he had checked in other rows. Ashwin felt extremely relaxed and relieved. He turned and smiled. Yes, he got escaped but I’m damn sure that same magic would never happen again to me. Slowly the knife was turning to my side.  It was exactly only three people ahead of me. If I get caught, then it would become quite obvious to the college management that the marks I had scored so far and my ranking as a third position class topper is a fake. I don’t know what to do? My mind started to abuse me that “you should have thrown that cheat paper before itself” but now I can’t because now squad standing closer to me and checking other students . Totally perplexed. I’m damn sure, I’m going to get caught.

Suddenly, unexpectedly, a voice from my behind called and told, “Hey Vamsi, could you please move to your place, it’s my place”. Its none other than my friend come enemy Varun, who arrived late to the exam hall. Varun, my class topper always hated me and the reason was just a normal human mentality. He is the hardworker, knowledgeable person who studies hard and get good marks. But Ashwin, me and rest of the students always use cheat papers in the exam and get good marks. So he always talks about dharma, honesty, blah, blah and says we will be punished one day severely, but we usually never bother about him. Now his intention was going to happen.

I slowly checked my roll number written on the bench. It was not my roll number. In the bench, I sat in the left side but actually my roll number was next to him. So I moved to the right side of the bench. He sat in my old place. Varun looked at me, who sat beside and gave a mocking smile.

Now I’m coming to the current situation. Varun was sitting before me in the interview panel and I gave a same mocking smile.

“I never expected you here,” Varun started after few minutes of silence.

“Even I didn’t,” I replied with a same smile.

“Soon I will become turn into atheist by seeing you reach good positions in a good organization where I came here to work under you”

“Don’t worry, you will never work under me,” I smirked again.

“Yes I know that. You have to avenge me for reporting to the principal about your cheat paper affair.”

It was kind of shock but that didn’t bother me. More than 15 years had passed and it’s very difficult to even remember that incident. But his words helped me to retrieve it back. Now I understood everything clearly. Varun is the one who had dropped a mail to principal as a stranger, stating that our class students were using cheat paper to pass in the exam due to jealousy.

Now everything was in Varun’s hand. I felt relaxed but not much. Finally squad moved to his place. Happily Varun co-operated the squad by looking at me and gave a mocking smile. His smile indicates, I’m honest and you are going to get caught for your mistakes.

Squad moved his hand below the bench and brought out the seven A4 size cheat papers. Everyone in the exam hall got stunned include invigilator as it was the highest cheat paper ever found, but to my knowledge it was the second highest as Ashwin has the whole book under his bench. Varun’s expression totally changed,

“Sir, it’s not me, actually I’m not sitting here...what I’m…,” he started to stammer in fear.

“I expected that you would have got caught that time,” Varun angrily looked at me and told.

“Yes I might have got caught if you had not saved me,” I retorted.

“You idiot, how could I have saved you,” he angrily shouted.

“Yes if you had not come to the exam hall late and ask me to move to my place, I might have got caught, right?”

“So are you saying, Am I saviour?”

“Kind of, Varun. Do you remember you started to pointing out me immediately once you got caught, and I started to point you back without knowing what to do? If you don’t come at the right time, then I don’t know whether I would have sat here now”

Once Varun got caught, he immediately pointed me by saying that I’m the one who sat before here and the cheat sheet belongs to me. What else I can do? He itself prepared good script for me and I started to act in it from then on. At the next second, I started to point back Varun by saying that, “No sir, I’m not responsible and its Varun, who might have kept that cheat sheets under his row and now trying to point me out” and it keep goes on for the next 15 minutes with heavy arguments. Invigilator, squad everyone tried to check the handwriting written in the cheat sheets with our answer paper but how would it will match? We were no fools and we are experts in copying exams.

After intense arguments, squad comes into the conclusion that we both tried to use that cheat sheets but anyway he never punished us. He just changed our place instead, suggested by our invigilator. Another big reason, he set us free that cheat sheets was not related to our current exam. Yes, unknowingly I kept my current exam cheat papers in my bag and took wrong one of our last completed exam cheat sheet. After we were getting caught, squad, invigilator discuss with them and laughed. That time, I don’t understand the meaning of their smiles but later once I checked my bag I came to know that cheat paper was useless even squad did not come for checking.

“I Wondered to see you as a manager” he blurted out.

“If you want to survive in the Indian IT corporate, you don’t need any knowledge and just your tongue is enough, Varun”

“So, you are setting a bad example”

“No I’m setting a good example to youngsters that Indian corporate only for the people like us and not for you”

“You are speaking better than college days , Vamsi”

“Yes that’s why I turned into manager where you are still a TL”

“Okay anyway I know the results of mine, you never selected me right?”

I smiled, “Even if I select you, your ego will never be willing to work under me. The reason for the God to bring you here is to get the solution of my long time clarification on how the squad came and checked only our class thoroughly and caught the students. I believe we will meet again.”

Varun stood and started to move away from my cabin. But immediately stopped, turned and called my name and asked, “Hey vamsi, now you got clarified but still I did not clarified my long time doubt”

“What?”

“How come you cleared the final paper? You cheat papers were gone and I’m damn sure that paper was really tough and you are not good to clear by your own. That too, you are topper in that paper.
How did it happen? Any miracle?”

I laughed heavily and replied, “Have you heard about cause and effect theory, Varun?”

“What is that?”

“Do you believe that because of Hitler we got independence?”

“What are you blabbering?” he interrupted.

“Yes, varun. Even Hitler didn’t know that and he is not the direct reason. He destroyed most of the British armies and then on, they don’t have much financial powers to maintain their army in several countries and that’s the main reason, we got independence. So you don’t do things knowingly but unknowingly the effect happens somewhere because of you.”

“Okay, what is the relation here?”

“There is a relation, Varun. As you always say, I’m knowledgeable then can’t you guess this simple? Okay I will give you another hint. Here the Hitler is you and India is me”

Still I see Varun’s eyes are wide open and trying to understand what I’m saying.

“Okay Varun let me give you another clue, Ashwin got failed in exam but I passed. If you still can’t get solution, then please retrieve the incident again and again. The answer is obvious. Good luck for your future”

Varun moved away with lot of confusion which amused me more. Sometimes I ask myself, how did God helped me to get good job and survive successfully, though I cheated many times in exams but the answer is now clear. Unless you never obsessed about other’s growth whether you lie or cheat to save you, it doesn’t matter.

"Jallikattu" - My traditional cultural values

Dear animal welfare association and animal lovers, if cows are harmed because of Jallikattu, then why the hell do you allow the people to eat goat, chicken, fish and all types of sea foods in India? Let’s ban everything. But the bitter truth is that, there are a lot of facts hidden behind the animal welfare groups opposing it. It seems they have invested a lot of money to ban our ancient sport. Just imagine, who are all the people helping those welfare groups? What are the actual things hidden behind this? There are lot of doubts arising.

Jallikattu is an ancient sport. The seals of the Indus Valley civilization depict it, which is proof that this sport was in vogue 5,000 years ago. Ancient Tamil poetry, known as Sangam literature (2nd BCE – 2nd CE), has many detailed references to EruThazhuvuthal (hugging the bull). The fact that English colonial administrators have also written about Jallikattu tells us the sport was played continuously down the ages.

People from Tamil Nadu see Jallikattu as their life, more than just sport. It’s our identity and traditional values. Our pioneers want to save our native cattle breeds, and they want to reproduce more cows, bulls to save agriculture and milk production. That’s the main reason they brought the sport in the name of Jallikattu or Manjuvirattu. Bullfighting was common among the ancient tribes who lived in the ‘Mullai’ geographical division of the ancient Tamil country. Later, it became a platform for display of bravery and prize money was introduced for entertainment. Slowly all the people in the respective villages considered it as the biggest pride to win in the Jallikattu  hence, many bulls are specifically identified, trained and nourished for these sporting events, and their owners spend considerable sums on their upkeep. Through this, indirectly they are saving,Kangeyum, Puliyakulam, Tiruchengodu, Bargur, Palamalai, Umbalachery, Alambadi and a lot more. At one time, there were lots of people killed and injured but now everything is regulated and you can put restrictions if it hurt the animals; we are ready to incorporate the rules. Just imagine, if they stopped this sport, it will result in the owners starting to sell, and to stop raising the bulls which will destroy all the species. It affects agriculture, farmers’ lives and ultimately our milk production.

Despite knowing all these facts, why is the central government showing so much interest in banning our ancient sport? There are only two views about Jallikattu. Those who know what actually Jallikattu is about, why our ancient people follow that strictly, will support it. But those who don't know what actually Jallikattu is all about, just say the save cow, don't hurt animals, blah, blah, simply opposing it. Speak, support, argue, but before that educate yourself. When horse riding and racing is considered as an entertainment and sport, how come “Jallikattu” is harmful to animals? Before opposing the sport, please go to the villages and see how we treat the bulls. We respect, love, placing them in equal of God and treat them way better then PETA or any other animal welfare groups. Because we know the real worth of it. We never use any of the breeds to export to the foreigners for money and have never been a part of cow slaughter.

It is really more painful, hurting when the people from our own country, without knowing the history of jallikattu, opposing it simply because of “we are Tamizhans”. When we were struggling in chennai floods, north media busy in projecting the Bollywood heros, heroines, amirkhan’s intolerant statement and counted the number of husbands of indrani mukerjea. When we were killed in our own sea areas, they projected it as “Tamil fisherman” but sundarpichai, arrahman, vishwanathan anand become Indians. Why there are lot of partialities? But I’m not saying about all my brothers and sisters. Markenday katju replies, we never forget. To my entire fellow brothers and sisters who considered tamizhans as aliens, please don’t forget, India’s biggest strength is diversity.

I believe Indian judiciary system is fading day by day, given their judgement. The days are not much far when the people start following their own rule, irrespective of the judgement. When a guy gets Rs. 10,000, a sewing machine and is stated as a minor after brutally raping and killing a girl, an actor is set free even after lot of evidences against him for drink and drive, killing the person, all the corrupted politicians set free only because they have power and money, why the hell do we need to obey their bad judgement? So here, there is no value for honesty and goodness. Money and power plays a vital role in the Supreme Court and all the high courts.

So, who are the real culprits behind this ban? Why is it that lot of Indians got selected in Miss World and Miss Universe continuously from ‘94 to 2000 and why has no one got selected after that? Yes, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Corporate companies play a vital role in every possible way. Some corporate companies want to enter into India in beauty products, so they have used the Miss World and Miss Universe titles as their key. Now they want to enter into the milk production business. So they are slowly destroying whatever they feel are the main hindrances in the name of animal welfare association. But mostly the people and the media projected only the outer layer, the hidden facts always went unnoticed.

Milk is about 85% water. The remaining 15% is the milk sugar lactose, protein, fat, and minerals. The protein portion is 80% casein and 20% whey. Whey does not coagulate or make a curd as the milk acidifies. Beta-casein is 30% of the total protein content in milk, or about 30% of the total protein content in cow’s milk.

There are actually two kinds of milk in the world today. One is from an older strain of cows, found predominantly in France, Asia & Africa, with a few herds in Australia and scattered elsewhere around the world. These cows purportedly produce milk with the original beta casein protein, which the author claims is easier to digest and confers the health benefits we typically associate with dairy consumption. This milk is being called A-2.

The second and more modern kind of cows allegedly produce A-1 milk. It’s claimed that a mutation occurred around 5,000 years ago that caused these cows to produce milk which has a beta casein protein that has mutated ever so slightly, to create a peptide called bcm7 that acts as a powerful opiate. This slightly mutated beta casein has a propensity to break apart during digestion, rather than holding together like its A-2 cousin. The fragmented protein can penetrate the gut lining and enter the bloodstream, and it is thought that this has a deleterious effect on the human body.

The beta casein proteins found in milk are supposed to stay in your intestinal tract, but it is claimed that the fragmented casein from A-1 milk breaks through the gut barrier and enters the bloodstream, where it wreaks havoc on pretty much all the organs of the body. Some are attributing a long and varied list of serious conditions—ranging from juvenile diabetes to heart disease to autism—to this casein incursion into the bloodstream.

Now our breeds produce A2 milk which is digestible and have lot of health benefits. We don’t want to import any breeds or depend on any country for milk production. Still some statistics claim that India is one of the largest beef exporters. Milk is one of the most essential parts of our daily foods. So now, they want to make us dependable in milk production. How will they achieve that by banning Jallikattu kind of sports? Imagine Jallikattu being banned for life time and the owners having to selling their breeds. This will reduce our natural cattle breeds. As time passes, we will be need of bulls to increase the cow production and also for farming. Then we shall start depending on other countries. They will export bulls which may be injected breeds.  As time passes, mutation might occur in our cows and they may be become A1 or A1/A2 hybrid which may create a lot of health deficiency. So more pharmaceutical companies can enter into India to recover this health deficiency and permanently we will be dependent on the UK, US or European countries on A2 breed or injection to converting our herds to A2-producers.This is not only an assumption, this is the way the corporate have entered into India in all ways. Once upon a time, The East India Company entered and started to invade India. Now corporate again is targeting in all ways to enter India, trying to destroy all our traditional values.

But why central government showing more interest to ban our ancient sport? The answer is simple. If you want to destroy the language, then destroy all their culture and ancient traditional values. Then make them dependable.

Why is every political party in Tamilnadu strongly showing so much support towards Jallikattu this time, though it never happened last time too? The answer is simple, TN state elections in the coming May.

So who cares about our traditional values ? It’s in our hand, your love towards animals become null when you start bargaining for extra chicken and mutton piece with the shop owner. If you really are concerned about animals, then you don't have the right to touch any living creature on earth.

Don't let the corporate enter into milk production by banning Jallikattu, which is actually harmful to the cows. More than that, it’s our ancient sport, Tamizhan traditional values, courage and more. It's every Tamizhan’s responsibility to save our traditional values. #‎ISupportJallikattu#‎WeNeedJallikattu

Beep song issue in tamilnadu

#Beepsong, most played song in my playlist, its not a motivational or devotional song to extract the meaning and do analysis or research.  It shows how people are immature and give importance to the entertainment. Hear, enjoy With the music; If you don't like, then skip it.
When heroine in the movie doing glamour and brought westernization here, where are all these women's association went?
When beaches become open red light area and doing smooching in public places, why not this women's association not protesting against those girls?
When girls wear vulgar dress in the name of westernization,  joins and posing a photo for the party with the drinks, where are all this women's association went? Can't it affects our culture?
There are lot of television shows are telecasting in the midnight or even during daytime which they are doing open talks about sex and body parts, can't it affects kids?
Who the hell asked kids to hear the songs in online which was not officially released and will never telecast in television. so when kids able to access internet and hear this kind of songs, and there is a high chance for them to download the porn videos and see? Can you restrict? If they able to chat in WhatsApp independently then you can't hide anything from them. Instead of hiding, teach them which is good and bad for better future.
Few weeks back there is an audio went viral in WhatsApp where the gal abused one of the leading actor, and I never heard so much of bad words ever. Why not the women's association file a case against that girl? Why this society became so biased?
Give some space to entertainer, don't restrict them in the name of culture, religion, caste and don't forget that India is a Democratic country.
When we ready to accept chetan bhagat kind of porn writer and let our generation to read 'two states' kind of book as a best love story where he showed love after sex, why not beep song?
If you talk about culture and traditional values, I never read any of the ladies in the historic novel to marry or love the guy twice but men can do even 1000 times. So is this our culture? Even in Ramayana, lord Ram is not ready to accept sita after returned from ravana kingdom. What it shows? In our culture, they have created huge restriction for girls to move with guys. But, is that any of the girls are really  following now? Remember indrarani mukerjea from India. When some girls doing against culture, we never bring the topic and word called "culture" but for this beepsong, everyone loses their mind. If you are ready to accept westernization then you have no rights to raise your voice about this issue and talks about our culture.
Heard Eminem songs? In most of the Hollywood movies heroine acting in nude scenes but not guys!! So will you say foreigners use girls as a sex object where Indians respect girls? The real truth is, they never relate the life with entertainment, they know the difference between girls and boys, "what the fuck?" "Asshole" kind of words are just emotional words and they never care about the usage. More than that, they never restrict the other people thoughts and life in the name of useless nonexistent virtual character called culture. Could anyone elaborate about our Indian culture and traditional values clearly? No one, because it is just subject to change.
As per my knowledge, illangovadigal used "thevaradiyar" word in silapathigaram. So according to this group, that was a bad word. So, please raise a case against ilangovadigal, thiruvalluvar written kamathupaal, kambar used"mayuru" in kambaramayanam; go and raise case against them. So according to your argument, Tamil language have lot of bad words ( words can never be bad, its your view) so you have to protest to ban the language. But every language have bad words according to your view, so shall we ban all the languages? Then how we can talk?
Child sex, a lady using child for begging, human trafficking, corruption and n number of issues are there to raise your voice. Go and educate yourself #Intolerant
